The Fayetteville Police Department allegedly seized weapons, drugs and gambling paraphernalia Wednesday from a Bragg Boulevard auto shop during an investigation into a shooting, a news release said.
Joseph Robert Allen, 42, of Fayetteville is charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining dwelling for sale of controlled substances, possession of a stolen firearm, possession of marijuana paraphernalia, gambling, allowing gambling in a public house and allowing gambling tables.
According to the release, units of the Fayetteville Police Department and Cumberland County Sheriff’s office executed warrant at the 4600 block of Bragg Boulevard at Allen’s Automotive Company. Units involved were the Police Department’s Aggravated Assault and Robbery Unit; the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office’s Department of Motor Vehicle License and Theft Bureau; and the Police Department’s Community Empowerment Response Team.
“During the execution of the search warrant, detectives located three firearms: an AK-47, a Ruger 380 pistol, and an AR-15 which was reported stolen in May 2023. They located 156 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and discovered illegal gambling activities seizing multiple gambling items,” the release said.
Arrest records show Allen was released from the Cumberland County Jail on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
