Vanderbilt baseball begins a stretch of seven straight road games Thursday as it travels to take on Alabama in Tuscaloosa.
The Crimson Tide (30-15, 9-12 SEC) have found themselves in the center of a scandal as last weekend, multiple sportsbooks halted betting on the team amid alleged suspicious activity. On Thursday morning, Alabama fired coach Brad Bohannon due to “violating the standards, duties, and responsibilities expected of University employees.”
It is unclear if the firing was related to the betting scandal. Bohannon was also sued earlier this year by a former player over alleged mistreatment.
Alabama was swept by LSU last weekend.
The Commodores (33-11, 16-5) are coming off a sweep of Kentucky. They likely need at least three more wins in their last three series to secure a national seed.
