Twitch will ban any type of gambling stream from unlicensed sites

In its Twitter post, the company said that it will ban the performance of lives with gambling sites that include slot machines, roulettes, or any other type of game of chance that is not licensed in the United States or in the countries where the broadcast takes place.

The note specifically points out some sites already banned from being used on the platform, among them are stake.com, rollbit.com, duelbits.com and roobet.com. However, the company will still allow users to stream sports betting, fantasy games and poker.

Streamers and Twitch users have spoken out against live streams for gambling. During this week, personalities threatened to stop their broadcasts if the platform continued to show this type of content. Using the hashtag “#TwitchStopGambling” the big names made a kind of petition that was delivered directly to the company.

Twitch hopes to drastically reduce any content that influences its users to become addicted or that could be harmful to the community as a whole. It is expected that streams of this type will decrease until October 18, the deadline given by the company.
