Tom Brady delivers stern gambling warning to NFL players

Sometimes, to get a message across loud and clear, you have to bring out the big guns.

Queue Tom Brady’s music.

Brady recorded an educational video that every NFL team will use to inform its players on the do’s and don’ts – mostly the don’ts – of gambling.

The seven-time champion opened the video reflecting on his NFL career, explaining how much of a privilege of a lifetime it was to play every Sunday and in 10 Super Bowls, according to 9News.

The report says that Brady delivered a chilling warning to its players, stating that gambling on NFL games compromises the integrity of the NFL, ruins everyone’s reputation and is simply not worth it.

NFL coaches issue dire warning on gambling policy amid suspensions

There have been five gambling-related bans this NFL offseason, each at least six games, including three season-long suspensions that have put their status with the team in limbo.

In May, four Lions players were suspended – Jameson Williams, Stanley Berryhill, Quintez Cephus, and safety C.J. Moore – for either gambling on NFL games, or betting while on team grounds on non-NFL games.

The Lions released Berryhill, Cephus and Moore not long after.

In the same report, the NFL served its fifth suspension to Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney for the entire 2023 season.

NFL players cannot ever bet on the NFL, but are allowed to bet on other sports, however, no wagering can occur on company time (team hotel, at team facilities, etc.).

Team employees are not allowed to bet on sports in any capacity.

This reared its ugly head in New York, when Jets receivers coach Miles Austin was suspended for the 2022 season for betting on sports.

The harsh punishments have rocked the football community, with Colts cornerback Isaiah Rodgers currently under investigation and likely facing a long suspension for reportedly betting on his own team.

Whether he bet on or against his team is unknown.

Brady’s opener for this year’s gambling seminar will be shown to the players during the rookie minicamp and training camp this summer.
