Tiny Nick’s Gambling Picks: 08/24 - Zone Coverage
Locks

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Indiana Fever @ Minnesota Lynx -4.5 (-115; Odds via BetMGM): 7:00 PM CT on NBA TV

There’s a danger here that the Lynx will fall into a letdown spot after last night’s big win over Las Vegas. It’s definitely not a favorable scheduling spot, but one thing Minnesota has going for them is the revenge angle. The last time Indiana visited the Target Center, the Fever stole a win thanks to a fourth quarter collapse by the Lynx. Both of these teams are playing extremely good basketball, but just like last night it’s the Lynx who are able to get stops when it matters. Shop around for the best number, but at this price I’m backing the home squad to keep rolling.

WNBA (0.5 Unit) Connecticut Sun/NY Liberty Under 157 (-110; Odds via DraftKings): 6:00 PM CT on NBCS-Boston

I’ve been riding unders in Liberty games as their defense has picked it up, and I don’t plan to stop now. Especially not when New York is facing off against the best defense in the league, with Connecticut leading in points allowed this season. And, just like Thursday night, the Liberty could be without Sabrina Ionescu and Betnijah Laney-Hamilton who are both questionable. Ionescu played in all three of the previous meetings this season, yet none of those games got over this total, with 150.7 points on average. I’m expecting a slower-paced game with an emphasis on defense here, so look for the WNBA unders trend to continue.

NCAAF (0.75 Unit) Florida State -10.5 vs Georgia Tech (-110; Odds via Caesars): 11:00 AM CT on ESPN

Why we need to have college football games in Ireland is beyond me, but that could create the type of game that will allow Florida State to thrive. It’s supposed to be cool and damp in Dublin today (shocker, I know), with significant winds, which should force both teams to keep it on the ground more than usual.

That’s a serious mismatch in favor of the Seminoles, who can unleash DJ Uiagalelei and Roydell Williams. Big, physical runners, Williams and DJU should steamroll an undersized Georgia Tech front that will also be playing a 4-2-5 scheme. And if FSU gets rolling here, I’d expect them to take out some frustrations from the end of last season. All in all, I make this game more than two touchdowns in favor of the Seminoles, so look for them to cover with ease.
