MLB (0.5 Unit) Joe Ryan Over 18.5 Outs Recorded (+135; Odds via DraftKings): 1:20 PM CT on MLB Network
There are a few things working in Joe Ryan’s favor today, and I think they help him to a longer outing in this one. The most important is the wind, which is always the main factor at Wrigley, and today it’s blowing in hard. That immediately turns Wrigley into a pitcher’s park, and should allow Ryan to pitch more freely.
That in turn becomes a big advantage against a Cubs team that struggles against righties like Ryan, ranking just 23rd in batting average and 20th in OPS. Additionally, Ryan has been given a longer leash in recent starts despite having some struggles, so I see Rocco trusting him to work into the 7th today.
MLB (0.5 Unit) Brent Rooker Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100; Odds via DraftKings): 2:37 PM CT on NBCS-CA
After a 2-for-4 night last night, I still trust Rooker to get it done today against this awful White Sox pitching staff. Chicago might have finally won a game last night, but they’ll still send the worst pitching staff in baseball to the mound today, and Rooker should rake again. It’s an afternoon game with higher temperatures and the wind blowing out at Oakland Coliseum, which creates a significant boost to hitting conditions. So as long as I’m not laying juice on this prop, I’m going back to this well with Rooker again and again.
