Locks

MLB (0.75 Unit) Byron Buxton Over 1.5 Total Bases (-110; Odds via DraftKings): 1:10 PM CT on Bally Sports North

If Rocco doesn’t start Buxton today, I’ll be calling for him to be thrown in jail by the end of the day. The Twins center fielder (or DH, I don’t care, get him in this game) absolutely crushes White Sox starter Chris Flexen and should again today. Buck has 8 hits in 11 at-bats against Flexen, with 4 doubles and 2 home runs. That works out to a .727 average and 2.386 OPS, which is just insane, so throw in a hideous Chicago bullpen backing up Flexen and I think Buxton rakes today.

Bonus Bet (0.25 Unit): Byron Buxton Over 2.5 Total Bases (+160; Odds via DraftKings)

I’ll split the unit here and go up the ladder for this juicy return since it’s rare to see 1.5 bases at standard juice, but this matchup justifies it. After just missing a home run last night, I’ll look for Buxton to either put one over the wall or find some extra bases to clear this alt number.

MLB (1 Unit) Toronto Blue Jays/NY Yankees Over 9.5 (+100; Odds via BetMGM): 12:35 PM CT on MLB Network

Let’s make it 3 overs in a row for this weekend’s series, which would also make it 8 straight in the season series. These teams have just plain figured out how to score at will against each other, and even today’s pitching matchup with Gerrit Cole taking the mound can’t hold this total down.

Cole was knocked around in his last start for 6 runs, which makes for 3 poor starts in the 7 games he’s pitched since returning from injury. But the way the Yankees are swinging the bats right now, Toronto starter Yariel Rodriguez could be in trouble. New York was fortunate to see 3 righthanded starters out of the Jays this weekend, and I think it makes for 3 over tickets cashing.
