WNBA (0.5 Unit) Dallas Wings/Seattle Storm First Half Over 86 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on NBA TV
These teams just combined for 173 points on Saturday in a game where both teams had shooting issues. They also went for 176 in the first meeting, so points are coming when these squads get together. But the far higher-scoring half on Saturday was the first half with 95 points, compared to 78 after halftime. Anecdotally, I’ve been noticing that around the WNBA, pace, shooting, and therefore scoring seem to be up in first halves. It’s the second halves where the ugly quarters seem to be happening much more frequently, so I’m applying my unscientific theory to this game tonight.
MLB (0.5 Unit) MacKenzie Gore Over 2.5 Earned Runs (-110; Odds via Caesars): 5:45 PM CT on SNY
The Mets might be suffering the indignity of it being Bobby Bonilla Day, but they should make up for it with a solid night at the plate. The Mets had an incredible month of June, averaging 6.4 runs per game, which included a game against MacKenzie Gore. They tagged him for 6 runs in that one, and I think they can get him for plenty again tonight. New York is far better against lefties like Gore, with a batting average 21 points higher and an OPS that’s 55 points higher. Gore did not have the best June, and against this hot lineup I think he struggles again tonight.
