MLB (0.5 Unit) Chicago White Sox/Colorado Rockies Over 12 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 2:10 PM CT on SportsNetRM
The White Sox are dealing with some key absences in their lineup and haven’t been producing at the plate like they should. But today might be the easiest matchup they’ve seen in a while against Chris Flexen, who has been atrocious since Colorado picked him up. The righty has posted a 7.78 ERA in his 4 starts in a Rockies uniform, none against what I’d consider elite lineups.
So Chicago raising the floor of their offense really boosts the potential for runs here, especially with Colorado having such success at the plate recently. The Rockies are scoring 8.6 runs per game in this home stand, including 25 in the two games against Chicago. Dylan Cease might slow that down a little, but his worst games tend to come on the road and this Rockies lineup is rolling. Add in excellent hitting conditions at Coors, and this should be another high-scoring affair.
WNBA (0.5 Unit) Seattle Storm/Minnesota Lynx Under 160.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:00 PM CT on NBATV
The Storm have become a dead under team since they snapped their 10-game losing streak late last month. In the 8 games since, Seattle has really slowed the tempo and focused on defense, leading to a record of 7-1 under this total and an average of 152.3 PPG. That includes Friday’s meeting with the Lynx back in Seattle that was a dead under and only had a total 1 point higher than today. The Lynx have not been a pace-setting team recently, and Friday proved they’re willing to let the Storm dictate a slower tempo. I think that happens again despite the move to Target Center, and the money that’s been coming in on the under is justified.
