WNBA (0.5 Unit) Seattle Storm/Washington Mystics Under 157.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 6:00 PM CT on NBCS-DC
Washington has spent the past couple weeks playing some of the fastest-paced teams and worst defenses the WNBA has to offer. That’s caused their scoring to jump, but I think tonight is when they’ll return to their usual strong defensive ways. The Mystics are also without star Elena Delle Donne after she re-injured her ankle on Sunday, so the offense will struggle from that standpoint.
This is also a pretty poor Seattle team offensively, as the Storm are one of the lower-scoring teams and have the worst field goal percentage in the league. That showed a month ago when they scored 66 and 65 points in a doubleheader with the Mystics, and I think we see a return to that slow-paced, lower-scoring basketball tonight.
WNBA (1 Unit) Las Vegas Aces Team Total Over 93.5 (-110; Odds via Caesars): 9:00 PM CT on CBSSN
This Mercury team has been playing somewhat better lately, but the level of competition has been nothing compared to what they’ll see tonight. Las Vegas showed off their top gear in a highly motivated spot on Sunday, and I expect the momentum from dropping 113 points to carry over. This number is still below their home average of 94.7 PPG and the Aces already put 99 on Phoenix earlier this season, so I’ll count on their offense to stay red hot.
