Jaydev Mody, Chairman, Delta Corp talks about his journey from owning the iconic Crossroads Mall and his association with projects like Peninsula Park and Ashok Towers, to suddenly moving to casinos and becoming the gambling king. In an exclusive conversation with Udayan Mukherjee, Global Business Editor, India Today, Jaydev Mody said that “crossroads was the first mall to revolutionise the organised retail in India.” However, Mody added that getting into the Casino business was a good opportunity. Further, he said that the company now owns eight casinos. Mody also addressed the stigma attached to gambling with Udayan Mukherjee. Talking about the future plans of the company, Mody said, “we are seriously making a lot of effort to grow our online business in the multi-gaming platform and in the real money gaming space.”
