Alexandre Barmak and Yuliya Sobolevska both appeared in front of a judge for the first time Friday morning, facing multiple charges related to their alleged involvement in illegal gambling operations.

The charges specifically include racketeering, money laundering, and keeping a gambling house, as well as dozens of unlawful possession of slot machine charges.

The suspects are accused of having a role in illegal gambling operations at the Players Paradise Arcade in Delray Beach and the Midway Arcade in Fort Pierce.

Their arrest is part of a larger operation carried out by the Florida Gaming Control Commission, which has already seized more than 1 million dollars in assets, cash, slot-style gaming machines, computers, and ATMs at illegal gambling sites across Florida.

Both Barmak and Sobolevska are facing bonds of more than $100,000 each. Under Florida law, charges like racketeering can carry sentences of up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
