A now viral moment involving Drake, a drone, and one bright orange slide has taken over our FYP — so is it true that it’s just another well-disguised promo?
As millions of views continue to roll in, everybody’s pretty convinced it’s a gambling ad, just less in your face than KenoGO.
But we’ve done some of our own sleuthing to figure out WTF is going on here.
What even is that video of Drake?
As you know, Drake’s currently in Australia for his Anita Max Win Tour, and his latest digs had him staying at Sydney’s Crown Towers Barangaroo.
In a video that hit social media on Wednesday, a drone seemingly floats into his luxury penthouse, capturing shots of a glass of rosé and a laptop perched on a table.
Within seconds, it seems the flying intruder’s spotted by Drake, who grabs a bright orange slide and hurls it at the drone to shoo it away.
According to the video caption, the drone “caught him gambling”.
At first, the video had a couple of us fooled, with some social media users describing it as an invasion of the rapper’s privacy.

Of course, like all things on our feed these days, there was more than meets the eye.
Taking a closer look
Upon further inspection, things start to unravel real quick.
First, fans pointed to the all-too-perfectly-crafted shot of the laptop showing a gambling website, which really might’ve been a dead giveaway. Drake’s been partnered up with gambling site Stake since around 2022, with the Financial Times reporting he could be earning some $100,000 annually from the partnership.
Next — and this one goes out to the eagle-eyed viewers — but there might even be a drone pilot who can be seen in the reflection of the glass door. Oops.
“This is so staged, it’s insulting he thought we would believe this,” one viewer pointed out.
Of course, there are plenty of others who suggest it could just be a reflection, so we’ll let you decide what you see here.

Another user remarked this “seems like an ad for like five different things” like the gambling site, Drake, the drone, the hotel, and Sydney.
Mostly people were having a field day with that “weak ass throw”.
The most suspicious detail? The video could seem too well-coordinated, with everything from the sleek penthouse to the perfectly placed product suggesting “sponsored content.”
It even had some people guessing this might’ve been AI generated.

The cherry on top is Stake’s own involvement with the video, dropping in a cheeky inspector emoji in a comment. We see you, Stake.

What has Drake said?
As the video exploded across social media, the rapper wasn’t about to stay silent.
On Wednesday evening, he posted a carousel to Instagram, captioned — wait for it — “The stakes are high… but so am I.”
And in case the sneaky reference wasn’t enough, he posted a screenshot from the viral stunt along with a pap of him wearing a full-sleeve tee with ‘Stake’ emblazoned on the front.

So what’s the verdict? Yeah, we’re inclined to say it’s staged AF.
But hey, you had some of us there for a minute.
