LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Several arrests were made during an investigation into an alleged illegal gambling operation, on Thursday, March 7, authorities said.

The Laredo Police Department’s Narcotics Vice Unit, in collaboration with the Webb County District Attorney’s Office, executed two state-issued search warrants. One of the warrants targeted an eight-liner parlor located in the 8600 block of McPherson Road.

According to the Laredo Police Department, all employees, including Marco Antonio Ortiz Galindo (24), Alfredo Geronimo (22), Jose Manuel Ortiz Galindo (28), and Ignacio Sotelo (37), admitted to knowing about the alleged illegal activities taking place at the business. They were arrested and charged with gambling promotion and organized criminal activity.

Douglas Hsu faced similar charges, along with the additional accusation of maintaining a gambling place. Following their arrests, they were booked and transported to the Webb County Jail.

During the operation, authorities seized 81 slot machines and $36,000 in cash. Investigations into the case are ongoing.
