Pb man kills dad after losing ₹25L in gambling; held

Bathinda: Fearing that his father would find out he had lost Rs 25 lakh while betting on online and offline gaming platforms, a resident of Punjab’s Muktsar district, who is in his thirties, killed him and tried to pass of the murder as a robbery, police said after cracking the case with his arrest on Saturday evening.
Marar village resident Lakhvir Singh, a farmer in his sixties, was killed on Sept 6.His son Piarjeet Singh, who is also into farming, told police that they were going in a car to Chandigarh for his father’s treatment, when four to five men on motorcycles waylaid them and killed his father near Marar Kalan village .
