Jamshedpur: A police raid on a gambling den in Bajrangnagar, under the jurisdiction of Golmuri police station, took a tumultuous turn on Friday as some individuals resorted to pelting stones at the law enforcement officers. Despite the resistance, the police successfully apprehended seven individuals in connection with the illicit gambling activities.
A case has been filed against 18 individuals for obstructing government work. The arrested suspects have been identified as Trilok Singh, Manoj Kumar Yadav, Vikram Kumar, Mukesh Kumar Singh, Veer Singh alias Veeru, Savinder Singh alias Motu, and Rajkumar Aggarwal. Efforts are underway to locate and apprehend the remaining suspects who managed to evade arrest.
During the raid, the police seized Rs 36,545 in cash, assorted currency notes, and three motorcycles from the gambling den. The police had acted on confidential information indicating the operation of an illegal gambling establishment in the area. Responding to the tip, a police team was assembled to conduct the raid. However, the situation escalated when individuals present at the gambling den, including some women, initiated stone-pelting against the police.
