Pennsylvania Smashes Records Again with March Gambling Revenue

The Keystone State has done it again, as PA online casinos have registered a growth that’s just shy of 29% throughout March, when compared to the same month last year. According to the latest figures released by the Pennsylvania Gambling Control Body, online casino games generated a monthly gross revenue of over $191 million, compared to $148 million in March 2023.

More than $82 Million in Tax Revenue from Online Gambling

This March’s revenue from the play of online slot machines was $135,519,554, representing a 29.28% increase in revenue when compared to the $104,827,884 generated in March 2023.  Table games yielded $53,091,910, also showing a substantial increase of 31.18% from the previous year.

The only segment that registered a decrease of popularity was online poker, which went down from $2,889,710 to $2,474,651. However, the latter figure could easily undergo significant improvement if rumours of Pennsylvania joining the multi-state online poker compact are true.

The new record has resulted in a hefty tax haul of $82,061,953 for the Keystone state. Here are the main figures at a glance:

What Does this Mean for Pennsylvania Online Casinos?

Even as some operators and economists sounded the alarm about the proliferation of skill games and the negative effect these may have on retail gaming revenue, it appears that this certainly isn’t true of the online sector, as the Pennsylvania Gambling Control Board continues posting proof of an ongoing upward trajectory for online gambling revenue.
