Paf lowers gambling loss limits for 18-24s

Nordic gambling operator Paf has lowered loss limits for customers aged between 20 and 24 in a move aimed at protecting younger players.

Customers in the age bracket can now lose a maximum of €8,000 per year, down from €10,000 per year.

Paf customers can set their own lower loss limits but cannot exceed the caps set out by the operator.

“This is an important continuation of the responsible gaming direction we are striving towards at Paf,” said CEO Christer Fahlstedt (pictured left).

“Now young customers can only play with us for amounts that are at a more sustainable level and within the framework of the customer segment that we have defined ourselves as the green segment.”

Paf first introduced loss limits in 2018 and last April lowered the mandatory loss limit to €17,500 from €20,000, with the change applying to all game categories and all gaming sites owned by Paf.

It noted that people aged 18-24 have been found to be at a higher risk of suffering from problem gambling in many studies.

“We believe it is important to focus on young people and their gambling from a responsible gambling perspective,” added Daniela Johansson, the operator’s deputy CEO and chief responsibility officer (pictured right).

“Together with our other responsible gambling measures, the loss limits are a good complement for better responsible gambling.”
