Is online gambling legal in South Africa?
Most forms of online gambling are illegal in South Africa.

Playing poker, blackjack, or any other game for money (on the internet) is illegal because these companies are registered outside of Southern Africa.
The National Gambling Act says that gambling with bookmakers (e.g. companies) registered in South Africa are legal. This law allows companies like Ithuba National Lottery to hold a valid Gambling and Gaming License.
Is online LOTTO legal in South Africa?
Ithuba National Lottery allows players to play through their website, but also through the official Ithuba National Lottery app. It is also possible to play via banking apps.

Does this make it online gambling?
According to the Gambling Act, it is legal to bet on certain games (e.g. the National Lottery) if the company holds the right licenses in South Africa.
The National Lottery is legally allowed to operate according to law.
