Detroit Lions safety Tracy Walker denied being one of the players the National Football League is investigating for violating their gambling policies.
“For all the people thinking it’s me….I don’t gamble,” Walker posted on his social media page.
After four Lions were suspended, it was reported by The Athletic that a fifth member of the roster was being investigated for a potential violation.
Wideout Jameson Williams discussed his suspension, indicating he was quite surprised that he was going to miss the first six games of the 2023 season.
Walker is returning from a torn Achilles and participated in a limited manner at organized team activities.
The talented defensive back values his role as a potential leader on this defense, so engaging in behaviors detrimental to the team would be out of character for Walker.
“It feels great to be back,” Walker told reporters last week. “I can’t hide the emotions, you know? It’s a blessing. I’m very excited. Honestly, I missed it. It’s hard to explain. It was cool that I got time to spend at home with my family, but at the end of the day, I missed ball. I missed coming out here being around my teammates and being the leader that I am.”
