Kroy Biermann claims ex Kim Zolciak has gambling problem which affects her ability to parent their children and wants her to submit to psychiatric evaluation amid nasty divorce battle

Kroy Biermann has claimed estranged wife Kim Zolciak has an online gambling problem which has ‘devastated their family financially’ according to new legal documents obtained  by TMZ.

The pair separately filed for divorce almost two weeks ago, with the split quickly turning ugly as they are both asking for sole physical custody of their kids, with Kroy, 37, asking for sole legal custody as well.

The latest twist in the divorce battle has seen Kroy claim Kim, 44, has shown some ‘very troubling behavior’, alleging she admitted to him that she has spent a lot of time and money on online gambling, which is a ‘compulsion’ to her.

Kroy claim’s Kim’s gambling problem is affecting her ability to care for their four minor children and that he is concerned for their safety and well-being.

Together the Georgia-based couple have four children: Kroy Jagger (KJ), 11, Kash, 10, and twins Kaia and Kane, nine. Zolciak also has two adults daughters, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, with an ex.

He now wants her to sit for a psychiatric examination as he allegedly believes her gambling problem could be due to ‘underlying mental health issues’ such as depression or bipolar disorder.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for the pair for comment.

This comes after Kim requested that Kroy take a drug test amid their bitter divorce.

The  former Real Housewives Of Atlanta star reported that she’s witnessed the football player smoking marijuana, causing her to be concerned about the safety of their four minor children when they are in his care, according to Radar

In legal documents obtained by the publication, Zolciak states that she has serious concerns for the children’s well-being and is asking for the judge to force Kroy to submit to a five-panel hair follicle drug screen.

The filing also requests that Kroy not cut or remove his hair until the screen is done. Marijuana is not legal in the state of Georgia, where the exes reside.

Asking for sole custody is an unusual move as exes often request joint custody to make the divorce smoother.

Kroy has asked for sole legal and physical custody. Kim wants sole physical custody with visitation for Kroy.

Kim and Kroy split after 11 years of marriage.

A week ago TMZ reported that the duo are already battling it out over who gets what.

It was claimed that Montana native Kroy wants to keep their $2.5M sprawling seven bedroom mansion in Alpharetta, Georgia, even though it is reportedly in foreclosure as they owe $1.1M in unpaid taxes.

And Kroy has asked that Kim move out immediately. But the publication claimed that they are both still living in the house

An insider with exclusive knowledge of the situation has revealed the root of that ‘break’, telling DailyMail.com last week that the breakdown of the couple’s relationship all began with their financial struggles – which Kim ‘blamed’ Kroy for, despite allowing him to take control of much of their finances ‘for years’.

‘Kroy did everything for Kim,’ the source explained. ‘He was her manager, her assistant, and her husband. She leaned on him for so many years and relied on him for everything. She also took him for granted and she blamed him when their financial situation went to hell.’

In the wake of the divorce announcement, it was alleged that Kim and Kroy owe $1.1 million in unpaid taxes, a debt that has piled up after they reportedly failed to pay the IRS in 2013, 2017, and 2018.

TMZ earlier claimed that Kroy asked in his divorce petition that Kim must ‘maintain all financial documents including all income records, tax records, expense records and more,’ said the site.

Her paperwork said the marriage is ‘irretrievably broken with no hope of reconciliation,’ the outlet noted.

The outlet also reported that she requested spousal support and for her maiden name to be restored legally.

Apparently, the split has been in the works for a while.

People claimed that Kim had been planning to split from Kroy for ‘a long time,’ and did not tell anyone, not even family or friends.

‘The money has been a huge issue. The million dollar tax [payment] was just way too much pressure on them,’ the source said.

Adding: ‘There’s no cheating on either side. The money has a lot to do with the split, but there were other factors. He’s managing [the family] for a long time, so he technically did have a job. They’re not on good terms right now.’

Kim and the former Atlanta Falcons NFL star first met in 2010 after crossing paths at the Dancing With Atlanta Stars charity event. They tied the knot one year later in November 11, 2011.

Once married, Kroy also legally adopted Kim’s daughters from her previous relationships, Brielle and also Ariana whom the reality star shares with ex-husband, Daniel Toce.

The TV personality and the former professional NFL player initially bought the home for $880,000 back in 2012.

Their property is now priced between $2.5 and $2.6 million, according to the outlet.

The lavish estate has been featured on both the Real Housewives and Kim’s own reality show titled, Don’t Be Tardy, which aired for a total of eight seasons.

Truist Bank has been asked to deal with the foreclosure of the house, and action had reportedly begun to take place back in August when the couple defaulted on their $1.65 million mortgage.
