There is a widespread myth that online gambling is banned in most of America but with the remarkable growth of online casinos, there have been significant changes brought in the country to legalize online gambling. In this article, we will explore if online gambling is still banned in most of America and if not, what are the changes that brought this shift in the country.

History Of Online Gambling In America

Even though online gambling was prevalent in the early 200s, it was made legal in the United States of America only in 2013. Delaware was the first state in the country to legalize online gambling which allowed online casinos, betting, and poker. 6 years later, in 2019, Pennsylvania and Michigan legalized online casinos and sports betting which made a significant turning point in the legalization of online gambling in the country.

Online Gambling Laws

The law about allowing online gambling varied from state to state which some consider to be a wise decision whereas others are still quite adamant about legalizing it in their states. The legalization of online gambling happened in the country after the 2018 ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States that struck down a 1992 law banning online gambling and betting in the country.
