IRGC Suggests No Gambling Integrity Concerns In Connection To ISU/Iowa Athletics Investigations

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC) released a statement yesterday (Tuesday) confirming its awareness of an ongoing investigation by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) into sports wagering involving individuals associated with the University of Iowa and Iowa State University (ISU). As the regulatory body responsible for overseeing gambling and wagering laws in the state, the IRGC ensures the integrity of licensees and their operations. In its role of regulating sports wagering, the IRGC closely monitors wagering activity through various sources, including integrity monitoring providers, sportsbooks, regulatory jurisdictions, sports leagues, and the public. Currently, the IRGC has no information suggesting any integrity concerns regarding sports wagering contests or events involving either university. DCI issued a statement Tuesday indicating no criminal charges have been filed, and no further information regarding the investigation will be released.
