Hollywood Casino York was fined $50,000 by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for three incidents where people under the age of 21 not only gained access to the gaming floor but gambled as well.
The fine was approved by the board during its Feb. 21 meeting after it was presented to them by its Office of Enforcement Counsel.
The three incidents in question occurred during 2021 and 2022, according to documents provided by the Gaming Control Board.
The first violation involved a 19-year-old man who admitted to using a fake driver’s license to gain access and gamble on three separate occasions.
The first occurred on Dec. 23, 2021, when he gambled 27 minutes and lost $170. The second time, which was on Dec. 28, 2021, the man gambled more than two hours and won $315. The third and final occasion was on Feb. 13, 2022, where the man lost $150 after gambling a total of 32 minutes.

The second violation involved a 20-year-old woman on Dec. 4, 2021, who presented her military identification, which had her correct date of birth, but was allowed on the floor by the security person on duty despite being underage.
She played slot machines before going to one of the gaming tables. She was on the gaming floor for about 32 minutes before an employee asked to see her ID when she tried to buy chips. After the employee saw she was underage, she and her companions were escorted out to the parking lot.
The third violation occurred on June 3, 2022, when a 20-year-old man gained access to the gaming floor using a fake ID. Only on this occasion, the identification was flagged as being fake, but the security officer on duty still allowed him access.
An assistant security manager eventually caught the error, but not before the under-age man was served alcohol using the same fake ID and gaining a wristband to gamble. He was eventually escorted out by casino personnel. The man was cited by Springettsbury Township Police for underage possession of alcohol.
After the incident, the man was banned from gambling at Hollywood Casino York until after his 22nd birthday in December 2023. Despite the ban, the man was allowed to gamble on Dec. 26, 2022, and on Jan. 2. 2023. He was also ejected from the casino a third occasion on April 23, 2023, before he had a chance to gamble.
It was also found the that under-aged man had gained access to the casino floor and gambled three other times in 2021: Aug. 14 and 15 and Oct. 2.
Hollywood Casino York also had to pay the Gaming Control Board $2,500 for the costs involved in investigating the incidents.
