Thiruvananthapuram: The Museum Police busted a gambling gang in Trivandrum Club and arrested nine people on Monday. The arrested include SR Vinay Kumar, managing director of United Electrical Industries. He is the brother-in-law of late CPM leader Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
The police have recovered Rs 5.6 lakh from the arrested people, who were nabbed from a quarters (number 5) of the club. The raids were carried out on the basis of a tip-off received by the police.
As per reports, the gambling took place inside a room booked under Vinay Kumar’s name.
