Faneyte opens reporting point for investigation into gambling licenses

WILLEMSTAD – Luigi Faneyte has set up a reporting point to effectively manage the global reactions to his complaint against Minister Silvania and three Maltese investors. The complaint centers around suspicions of fraud involving provisional online gambling licenses. The financial forensic investigator has established the reporting point as a non-profit organization, allowing players, operators, and other stakeholders to submit complaints and share information through the website lokinvestigation.com.

Faneyte claims that the licenses are being issued without established regulations, which poses legal risks for Curaçao. Through the reporting point, documents and evidence will be made public according to financial forensic standards. “The public can thus contribute to the investigation and fact-check those involved,” said Faneyte.

Alleged Fraud

Minister Silvania and other parties involved deny the accusations. Galea, one of the investors, claims that the licenses are not provisional, but documents from Fiorini seem to contradict this. The investigation reveals that the licenses are often issued without proper oversight, and supervision by the Gaming Control Board (GCB) is largely absent. Faneyte also points to potential financial risks due to payments routed through foreign entities in places such as Malta, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic.

Lawsuits

The bankruptcy of the online casino BC Game highlights, according to Faneyte, the lack of oversight. Although the casino disputes this, the Common Court of Justice has confirmed the bankruptcy. Players are at risk due to insufficient control and potentially misleading information.

Faneyte emphasizes the need for international cooperation, particularly with Maltese authorities, to deepen the investigation. Updates on the investigation and new developments will be shared through the reporting point’s website.
