LIPSCOMB, Ala. (WBRC) – Agents with the Alabama Attorney General’s Office recovered dozens of illegal gambling machines stolen from state evidence.
The machines were found Monday night at Jay’s Charity Bingo in Lipscomb off Avenue K. The electronic bingo games were seized by the state last week in Selma.
Agents quickly located the stolen games because the evidence stickers were still on each of the machines.
The gambling machines were stolen from Selma Charity Bingo, one of five locations the AGO shut down last week with a temporary restraining order.
Local law enforcement in Selma found five individuals moving the machines out of the building, which was sealed by law enforcement. They were arrested and face multiple felony counts.
In addition to the stolen machines, agents located more than 100 other machines that they deem to be illegal gambling devices at this location.
