An ESPN gambling host has lashed out on critics who pointed out that a gambling picks video she posted on social media included lines that were not offered on ESPN BET.
On Thursday, before the Chiefs-Ravens NFL season opener, Erin Dolan posted a series of picks connected to the game.
Hordes of commenters quickly pointed out that some of the picks, like the Chiefs’ Isaiah Pacheco to get over rushing 14.5 yards in the first quarter, were not available on the ESPN BET app.
“For the numb nuts who blindly tail picks without any analysis, just know that ESPN Bet doesn’t even offer this prop,” gambling and fantasy sports personality Josh Larky wrote on X.
“ESPN betting analyst gives out four picks, three of which ESPN Bet doesn’t have markets for. You can’t make this stuff up,” gambling consultant Dustin Gouker tweeted.
“To put a bow on all the engagement I got on this tweet, she got one of the four right; the only market ESPN Bet had (Worthy receiving yards) she had the under and it went over.”
Dolan was undeterred.
“To whom it may concern…This is MY social media. I gave out picks that I, Erin Dolan, liked. Some were on espn bet and some on other books,” she wrote in response to everyone criticizing her for posting the picks.
“I can’t control what markets go up, what markets get taken down, and lines moving. Enjoy the game! Let’s have some fun.”
Later on, Dolan took a victory lap about how, largely attributable to her detractors, her picks video had gone viral.
“Thanks to everyone that boosted my engagement today on here. Cya back here tomorrow,” Dolan wrote, adding a kissing emoji.
