Chandigarh: The UT police arrested eight people of Mohali and Chandigarh for gambling at Maloya, and recovered Rs 40,000 cash from the spot. The police arrested them under the sections of the Gambling Act, and later released them on bail.
“The Maloya police received secret information that the accused were gambling near a mosque in Maloya, and a police team conducted a raid at around 11:45 pm. Rs 39,520 was recovered from their possession,” said a senior police officer.
