DraftKings is bringing gambling to a shopping mall in the City of Detroit.
DraftKings and Live! Hospitality & Entertainment announced this week that the former will open a venue this fall at Somerset Collection, a mall in the Motor City.
In July 2021, DraftKings and Sports & Social announced a strategic relationship to create the venue.
“The collaboration will bring together Live! Hospitality & Entertainment’s market leadership in operating high-energy, first-class dining and entertainment venues with DraftKings’ industry-leading sports gaming platforms,” the companies said in a joint statement.
“We are thrilled to debut the first-ever Sports & Social DraftKings and offer customers in Michigan our innovative mobile sportsbook app with an exciting in-person experience,” said Michael Kibort, Director of Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings. “Thanks to the strong support of Live! Hospitality & Entertainment, we believe we have created a premier dining, sports and entertainment destination for fans.”
The venue will include a 32-foot LED media wall and host game day watch parties.

The space will have 10,400 square feet and will be located in the stand-alone building adjacent to Somerset Collection South.

Additional locations of Sports & Social DraftKings are expected to be announced in the coming months. DraftKings is no. 2 sports betting company in the U.S. based on market share, trailing only rival FanDuel.
