Bruno Mars laughs off $50M gambling debt rumors amid streaming success | The Express Tribune

Bruno Mars has responded with humor to rumors that he created his latest hit with Sexyy Red to clear an alleged $50 million gambling debt.

The Grammy-winning singer, known for his Las Vegas residency, took to Instagram to joke about the speculation, urging fans to “keep streaming” so he could “be out of debt in no time.”

The rumors originated from a 2024 NewsNation report, where a supposed Vegas insider claimed Mars owed MGM Resorts over $50 million in gambling losses. However, MGM quickly denied the claims, stating that Mars had no outstanding debt and emphasizing their “longstanding and mutually respectful” partnership with the artist.

Despite the controversy, Mars’ explicit new track, Fat, Juicy and Wet, featuring Sexyy Red, has become a streaming sensation. The song amassed over two million Spotify streams on its first day, while the music video—featuring Lady Gaga and BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ—surged to 12 million views within six days of release.

Mars recently made history by becoming the first artist to surpass 150 million monthly listeners on Spotify, further solidifying his dominance in the streaming era.

While the gambling debt rumors continue to circulate, Mars appears unfazed, focusing instead on his continued chart success and his high-profile Vegas residency.
