The NFL is said to be investigating yet another member of the Detroit Lions roster because of suspected gambling infringements.

According to The Athletic, the unidentified player is thought to have violated the league’s gambling policy, though it’s implied he isn’t a starter.

The league hasn’t offered any comment on the matter, which is also what obtains where it pertains to the Lions, the NFLPA, and the player’s agent.

The Detroit Lions Have Already Seen Four Players Hit With Suspensions This Year

Four Lions players have already been suspended for gambling offenses last month, with the NFL punishing wide receivers Jameson Williams and Stanley Berryhill getting suspended for six games for betting on non-football sports while on team premises.

Safety C.J. Moore and WR Quintez Cephus were hit with indefinite bans after they were found to have wagered on NFL fixtures. Moore and Cephus were released by the team following the reports, while Berryhill was cut this month.

The Lions weren’t the only team affected by the league’s gambling investigations. Washington Commanders defensive lineman Shaka Toney was also suspended indefinitely.

Meanwhile, ESPN has reported that the NFL is investigating another wave of potential violations

The NFLPA has since sent players a memo reminding them of the fact that gambling from team facilities is not permitted, whether or not it’s in relation to football games.
