Bookmakers claim the Government’s new Gambling Regulation Bill will help criminals promote black market betting and adversely impact consumer protections.
The Irish Bookmakers Association (IBA) claims restrictions around promotions, like offering free bets, will not be applied to black market operators — making them more attractive and enabling them to increase market share.
