The first day of Problem Gambling Awareness Month was March 1. BetMGM, the leading Michigan-based online casino, is dedicated to warning people about the dangers of irresponsible gaming and will ramp up its efforts to battle gaming addiction.
BetMGM to Expand Responsible Gaming Marketing
BetMGM made a commitment to prominently display RG messaging in its advertising initiatives and marketing. As part of the commitment, the apps and ads of the company will now display RG messages. These advertisements may be seen all throughout NA on print, billboards, TV, and radio.
The company is dedicated to spreading messages of responsible gaming and leading the industry in encouraging safe practices, which is why it is making a vow to spread the RG message in its advertising and product, according to a press statement by Adam Greenblatt, BetMGM CEO.
He added that the regulated sports betting and online gaming industries must make a considerable commitment to promoting responsible gaming in their advertising as they continue to grow. This commitment must go beyond simply providing players with the information and tools they need to play responsibly and safely.
Moreover, BetMGM will include gambling-related advertising and messaging on its social and digital media channels. RG content may also be found throughout BetMGM sportsbook products in the state. BetMGM has recently launched its sportsbook in Kansas, hopefully, the message of responsible gaming will cross the state lines in the near future.
BetMGM Utilizes GameSense in its RS Campaign
The award-winning responsible gaming initiative GameSense will play a crucial role in the RG campaign. The British Columbia Lottery Corporation created it and granted licenses to MGM Resorts and BetMGM. GameSense has assisted MGM Resorts, the industry’s top innovator in gaming entertainment, in establishing the bar for supporting responsible gaming and placing a high priority on player safety.
BetMGM has integrated GameSense into its digital platforms. It offers the following features:
- tools for creating expenditure limitations;
- dispelling many common myths about gambling;
- explains gambling’s fundamental principles;
- resources that clients can use to contact qualified GameSense advisors.
Michigan Schools Set to Teach Responsible Gaming to Students?
Sen. Joseph N. Bellino Jr. introduced a bill that would introduce responsible gaming education into Michigan classrooms.
According to Senate Bill 54, the state Department of Education must create a model program of education on gambling addiction that is suitable for each grade level and age group. If it is approved, classes would start in the fall of 2024. Both public school academies and school districts would have access to the program.
Teenagers are struggling with gambling addiction due to the prevalence of mobile betting applications and the legalization of online sports betting in more than 30 states, according to Bellino. Many young people, it has been said, do not view gambling as harmful, and high school students are twice as likely to have a gambling problem as adults. According to Bellino, his initiative has bipartisan support and aims to educate our youngsters about the true dangers of gambling in order to stop this problem from spreading.
