Apple boosted the quantity of advertisements it runs in its App Store earlier this week. Many of these newly marketed slots were immediately acquired by gaming apps. As a result, many iPhone users and developers turned to internet forums to voice their dissatisfaction. After all, some of these subpar programmes were showing up on app listings with contradictory objectives.
For instance, a person looking for an app to help them kick their addiction probably won’t like seeing an advertisement for a gambling app on the same page. Apple has stopped pushing gambling apps on its App Store in response to the uproar.

Apple acknowledged that it had “paused advertisements linked to gambling and a few other categories on App Store product pages” in a response to MacRumors’ Joe Rossignol. These specific advertising shouldn’t be shown to users anymore when they browse the different parts of the App Store.
What’s this? Ads for gambling at the bottom of a listing for a gambling addiction recovery app. How could this possibly go wrong? #Apple #appstore pic.twitter.com/9MQQvDMx8r

Now my app’s product page shows gambling ads, which I’m really not OK with.
Apple shouldn’t be OK with it, either.
The App Store has corrupted such a great company so deeply. They make so much from gambling and manipulative IAPs that they don’t even see the problem anymore. https://t.co/MnNlf7k0kT

The freshly additional advertising spaces are still there, of course. However, they are currently being used by other programmes that aren’t as troublesome or contentious.

Since it doesn’t specify the company’s upcoming actions, Apple’s statement is quite vague. Furthermore, it makes no mention of how long this pause will last. Will the business permanently outlaw these advertisements, or will it ultimately let them back under more accurate app listings? For the time being, nothing is known about this. The business is reported to soon add more advertisements across its Maps, Podcasts, and Books applications in addition to the new App Store ad spots.
