A government inquiry has recommended a total ban on online gambling ads within the next three years.

Labor faces mounting pressure from independents and the Greens to expedite its reform agenda on ads for online gambling after a parliamentary inquiry recommended a total ban within three years.
The recommendation was among 31 others detailed in a report published Wednesday morning titled “You win some, you lose more”, which recommended the Albanese government roll out the total ban in four phases, over a timeline of three years.
It also recommended the government establish a national online gambling ombudsman, and levy online gambling companies in order to fund harm reduction measures.
