SAN ANTONIO – The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an illegal gambling operation on the Northeast side.

The Organized Crime Division received information that there was a possible gambling operation going on in one of the suites of a business strip mall located at the 8000 block of FM 78.

According to investigators, the sheriff’s office obtained a search warrant and found eight women and two men gambling inside.

A woman who appeared to be managing the operation was arrested. Deputies say a man was found near the door in possession of a gun, marijuana, and had cash on him. Investigation shows that he was not linked to the establishment.

The woman that was found managing the illegal gambling operation will be charged with keeping gambling machines, possession of gambling paraphernalia, and promotion of gambling.

This is still an active investigation.
