3 booked for gambling in KKR vs LSG match

Three persons were booked for gambling allegedly during an IPL cricket match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the Chandlodia area of Ahmedabad on Saturday night.

According to an FIR lodged at the Ahmedabad Detention of Crime Branch Saturday, the police received an input about the alleged gambling near Silver Star Complex in Chandlodia while on patrol.

The police found the accused, Dhawalsinh Umat, watching the between Kolkata Knight Riders vs Lucknow Super Giants match with two mobile phones and various online gambling IDs open on a website accounting the performance of the two teams and the odds of the match.

The gambling IDs belonged to Chandlodia residents Amit Panchal and Jaimin Patel.

The police booked all the three persons under Section 12 of the Gambling Prevention Act.
