The 8:56 Foundation, the West Norfolk-based men’s wellbeing organisation, is highlighting its calendar of events for men in need, as well as those looking to make new connections.
The organisation’s primary support event, Men’s Time to Talk, will take place at the Walks stadium, Lynn, next week, as part of its monthly schedule for those wanting to speak about wellbeing or other issues in a group setting.
This session, supported by Reframe Coaching in conjunction with the Gambling Commission, will have a particular focus on gambling, looking at how the activity can affect wellbeing and mental health, as well as the safeguards which can be implemented to ensure safe betting or exclusion.
It will next take place on Thursday, April 27 at 7pm, in the community hub in the stadium and men aged 18 and over are welcome with no booking necessary.
A Facebook group where men can share their thoughts anonymously in an online space, free from judgement is also available.
The organisation also runs Talking Therapy as an ongoing support programme working with individuals on a case-by-case basis alongside counselling specialists Ratcliffe Consultancy.
Committee member Adam Whittaker said: “Our Time to Talk programme has been specially devised with expert guidance to provide a safe space for men to talk about a range of issues.”
