5 arrested for illegal gambling, possession of shabu, firearm in Rizal

Police arrested five men, including an 18-year-old, for illegal gambling and possession of illegal drugs and firearm in Taytay, Rizal on Tuesday, Dec. 24.

The Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) identified the suspects as “Jordan,” 18; “Lloyd,” 19; “PJ,” 21; “Vincent,” 24; and “Macmac,” 31, all residents of Rizal. 

According to authorities, the suspects were nabbed after being caught in the act of playing cara y cruz while they were conducting anti-illegal gambling operations in Barangay San Juan. 

Police also recovered five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 10 grams, valued at P68,000, coins used in gambling, P500 in bet money, and a .38 caliber revolver with four bullets. 

They are currently detained at the Taytay Custodial Facility and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). the Firearms Law (R.A. 10591), and the Anti-Illegal Gambling Law (PD 1602).
