After checks carried out by Nicosia on Friday and Saturday night, two cases of gambling are being investigated.

Nine people who were found playing dice were charged in writing and are expected to be taken to court at a later date.

Six of the nine were found gambling on Saturday night at around 8pm at a location in Nicosia. They were al men aged between 58 and 77.

The owner of the establishment was also arrested.

It followed a similar raid on an establishment in Strovolos on Friday at around 7pm. There three people were arrested for gambling, men aged 56, 61 and 71 including the manager.
