The Pune rural police Saturday busted an online gambling den in the Khandala area and arrested five people.

The police identified the accused as Ritesh Sham Dalvi, 27, Latikesh Sham Dalvi, 23, both of Khandala Bajarpeth; Suresh Dattu Mankar, 32, Yusuf Tayyabali Shetiya, 30, of Vadgaon Maval; and Munir Abdulla Rehman Bagwan, 52, of Lonavla.

Acting on a tip-off to deputy superintendent of police Satyasai Kartik, a police team raided a spot in the Khandala area. The police seized five cell phones, cash worth Rs 20,790 and other items from their possession.

The police said the accused gambled online through a mobile phone application. Police constable Bhushan Kunvar lodged the first information report (FIR) against the accused at the Lonavala city police station.
