SPFL has ‘no plans’ for gambling shirt ban following Premier League move

The Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) has said that there are currently no plans for it to follow the lead of the English Premier League by introducing a ban on clubs signing gambling companies as shirt sponsors.

Yesterday (Thursday), Premier League clubs collectively agreed to withdraw gambling from the front of clubs’ shirts, starting after the end of the 2025-26 season. Clubs will be able to continue featuring gambling brands on shirtsleeves and LED advertising. They will also be allowed to secure new shirt-front gambling sponsorship until the ban begins.
