Locks
MLB (1 Unit) Toronto Blue Jays/Baltimore Orioles Over 8.5 (-110): 6:05 PM CT on MASN
I’m pretty sure I’ve said it before, but I’ll say it again just in case: all the Jays and O’s do against each other is play to the over. The season series might be tight at 6-5 in favor of Baltimore, but the over/under splits are nowhere close at 9-2 over today’s number. After yesterday’s doubleheader of 10 and 12 runs, these teams are now averaging 10.5 runs per game, and I see more in store for today with this pitching matchup.
Mitch White for Toronto has been roughed up in his past two starts, allowing 7 and 6 runs to a couple of very questionable lineups. While he’s never faced Baltimore, they’re far better at the plate than his past couple of opponents so he could be in trouble again here. But I’m also expecting regression out of Kyle Bradish off two excellent starts. Both were on the road, and he’s now back home where his 6.29 ERA and .330 on-base average allowed are sure to factor in.
Bradish is also pretty bad against right-handed bats, which explains why the righty-dominant Jays lineup has tagged him for a 6.91 ERA and .345 on-base average in 3 meetings this season. I just have to trust numbers like that to be the storyline here as another meeting between these teams gets over a fairly low total.
