CCB Police raid gambling dens

Eight gamblers arrested, Rs. 12,54,765 cash, Rs. 7,60,000 worth gaming chips, mobile phones, counting machine seized

Mysore/Mysuru: In separate cases, City Crime Branch (CCB) Police, who raided two places where gambling was taking places, have arrested a total of eight persons besides seizing Rs. 12,54,765 cash, Rs. 7,60,000 worth gaming chips, six mobile phones, one counting machine and playing cards from them.

In the first case, the CCB Police on Mar. 9, acting on a tip off, raided a Sports Club at Hinkal on Hunsur Road and arrested three persons, who were gambling and seized Rs. 12,50,660 cash, six mobile phones, counting machines, playing cards and gaming chips from them.

A case has been registered at Vijayanagar Police Station.

In the second case on the same day, the CCB Police raided a building on Chamundi Hill Road in J.C. Nagar and arrested five persons besides seizing Rs. 4,105 cash and Rs. 7,60,000 worth gaming coins of various colours from them.

A case has been registered at Nazarbad Police Station.

CCB ACP S.N. Sandesh Kumar guided CCB Inspectors C. Krishnakumar and Anoop Madappa, Sub-Inspectors M. Rangaswamy and Maruthi Antharagatti, ASIs T. Satish, R. Raju, Asgar Khan and staff Saleem Pasha, Uma Mahesh, Ravishankar, Lakshmikanth, Mohanaradhya, Narasimharaju, Mahesh, K.S. Ravi, Purushotham, Joseph Noronha, Puttamma, Chandrashekar, Mamata and Srinivas in the nabbing and seizing operation.
