Italy international Sandro Tonali is preparing for his comeback training with Newcastle United, as the ban for gambling is about to expire.
The former Brescia and Milan midfielder was forced to miss most of the campaign and the EURO 2024 tournament when struck with a 10-month ban in October 2023 for repeated gambling offences while in Italy.
It emerged that he continued to place bets on 40 to 50 games even after moving to Newcastle United, but they took a more lenient view of the situation than in Italy and only added a two-month suspended ban.
Like Nicolò Fagioli at Juventus, Tonali was allowed to continue training with his Newcastle United teammates and is gearing up for his comeback at the start of the new season.
