In a nationwide crackdown on illegal gambling dens, Cambodian police have in the past month raided over 10,000 suspected locations, reports national newspaper The Star.
The raids were on premises in the capital Phnom Penh and in the provinces, but only 127 of the inspections has led to prosecutions, concerning 123 people, 56 of whom were foreigners from 11 different nationalities.
The illegal gambling tended to be lotteries or underground card schools and was conducted in coffee houses or noodle shops.
