The opening of the Dutch market to online gaming a year ago was not such a
straightforward exercise, said the chairman of the Kansspelautoriteit or KSA,
René Jansen, one year on.
Jansen (pictured) wrote a blog post on the KSA website in which he commented on some of the issues the authority had listed in its first annual report on legalised online gambling.
The ‘channelisation’ rate in the country was 85 per cent, said the report and had generated an average of €80m in GGR each month. Up to the end of September this year, there were 22 licensed online gaming operators in the Netherlands, from an initial ten.
