Delhi Police busts interstate gambling den, arrests 4 history-sheeters, 15 wanted criminals

Delhi Police busted an interstate gambling den to curb illegal activities in the North district of the national capital. The police arrested four history-sheeters and 15 wanted criminals from the Chenu Pehalwan gang from the Sita Sharan Colony near the Mandi area.

During this joint operation of Special Staff, Cyber Police Station and AATS, specific input was received that some gang members of Chenu Pehalwan used to gather somewhere in Sita Sharan Colony, Roshanara Road, sabzi Mandi area.

They used to call gamblers from different states, who also used to carry weapons to make a bet on books or ludo dice.

The police conducted a raid on August 28, 2022, and busted the gang members present for gambling.

In the raid, Delhi Police arrested the head bookie, named Mumtaj, who was the sole operator of the Chhenu Pehalwan gang outside the jail.

Along with him, several other criminals were also present at the gambling. Many bookies and criminals from Sonipat, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Delhi were gathered to gamble.

PISTOLS RECOVERED

The police have recovered one semi-automatic pistol along with five cartridges from the accused named Shiva and one semi-automatic pistol along with three cartridges from Kesar Ali.

The police also found three semi-automatic pistols and 12 cartridges in the possession of other accused persons.

The gamblers had appointed their people at the entry and exit gate of the colony to avoid the entrance of the police personnel.

Many accused that have been arrested in the case have been involved in several criminal cases of robbery, rape, murder, gambling and more.
