Merkur UK celebrates completion of G4 responsible gaming audits during Safer Gambling Week | Yogonet International

During Responsible Gambling Week, Merkur UK announced the completion of responsible gaming audits conducted by the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) for its online division, Blueprint Gaming. This audit marks the final step in the process for all brands under the Merkur UK group, following the completion of audits by Blueprint Operations, Regal Gaming Technologies, Merkur Slots, and Merkur Bingo.

The audits, carried out by G4, an internationally recognized organization in responsible gaming standards, assessed the practices and procedures of each brand. The process was overseen by Pieter Remmers, an expert in responsible gaming and founder of G4. Remmers is noted for his work in developing responsible gaming policies in multiple global jurisdictions, including the Netherlands, South Africa, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Malaysia, Singapore, Canada, Malta, and Sweden.

This development underscores Merkur UK Group’s commitment to adhering to the highest standards of responsible gaming, notes the company, aligning its operations with established and recognized global practices to promote a safe gaming environment.

Sascha Blodau, General Manager of Merkur UK, said: “When we launched our 360 Safer Gambling Program I went on the record to state that our overarching aim was to set the Gold Standard for safer gambling in our sector. I am delighted at the progress that’s been made across the entire UK business which also includes Blueprint Gaming, our online division.”

Safer Gambling is not transactional, it’s a culture and we were committed to instilling and living that culture in everything that everyone undertakes across the entire MERKUR UK family including team members who are not consumer-facing. It is totally fitting that we are announcing the successful audit during the UK’s Safer Gambling Week which does so much to raise awareness of safer gambling.

Our commitment is to sustain that awareness and engagement with players every week of the year and to provide our consumer-facing colleagues with the tools, the training and the confidence to ensure that gambling entertainment remains safe, secure and enjoyable for their customers. Working with the experts at G4 is another example of what we are doing as a business to identify and protect the very small percentage of customers who may experience problems,” he concluded.

Pieter Remmers added: “Everyone in a business needs to engage with the Responsible Gambling philosophy and the buy-in from the Merkur UK team has been outstanding. Having the executive team fully committed in such a way serves as a powerful driver of best practice.”
